Compound Selection Guide

Common Rubber Compounds for Printing

Each compound is matched to your application, chemical environment, and operating conditions.

NBR (Nitrile)

The standard choice for oil-based inks. Offers high resistance to oils and abrasion, but poor UV resistance.

EPDM

The go-to for UV and EB curable inks. Provides outstanding resistance to harsh chemicals and ozone, but swells with oil-based inks.

Combi (Mixed)

Used for dual-purpose presses alternating between UV and conventional inks. Offers balanced resistance.

Silicone

Ideal for heat-set web printing and laminating. Features exceptional heat resistance and non-stick release properties.

Polyurethane (PU)

Used for heavy mechanical loads. Delivers supreme abrasion resistance and load-bearing capacity.
